About Catherine Ince

Catherine is an independent curator, consultant and writer based in London. She has over 25 years of experience working in museums, galleries and public sector arts organisations in the UK and abroad. She is a skilled leader and has held senior curatorial and executive director positions in major institutions. She has worked at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Barbican Art Gallery London, ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, Denmark, and the British Council. Catherine started her career working independently for public and commercial clients, government and local authorities, as well as architecture and design studios. 


Catherine is the inaugural Charles & Ray Eames Foundation Research Fellow and is working on new research with the newly formed Foundation for the next three years. She is currently on the Board of Trustees of The Cosmic House and Jencks Foundation; and is a former trustee of the Architecture Foundation, London, and the Stanley Picker Gallery and Dorich House Museum. She has lectured and taught internationally and has contributed to design juries in the UK and Switzerland. In 2018 Catherine was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
